As individuals who strive to support children in need, we have come together under the roof of a non-governmental organization to produce more effective solutions. Our aim is to reach more children and join forces with like-minded individuals who share our intentions but may not know where to start. We decided to unite and create a collective called Gülümse Çocuk(smile child), with the goal of putting genuine smiles on the faces of the children we help. Inspired by Chingiz Aitmatov’s words, ‘Spend time with children to heal your soul,’ we have realized that bringing happiness to them also brings healing to ourselves.
In our individual endeavors thus far, we have witnessed the healing power of bringing happiness to children without reason. We have been the first voice heard by a hearing-impaired child through the purchase of hearing aids. We have taken action to ensure that children facing financial difficulties receive proper nutrition. We have become older siblings, knocking on doors in our holiday clothes on special mornings. We may not fully understand how we have become embedded in their thoughts, but for us, these children are deserving of everlasting smiles.
From this day forward, all our efforts will be dedicated to bringing smiles to the faces of children throughout our country. Let us come together and be a beacon of light for our children, who will be the torchbearers of our future. It is our sincere hope to create a world where every child smiles effortlessly, without needing to say ‘Gülümse Çocuk(smile child)’
